France telecommunication will bring FTTH that is Fibre-to-the-home cable network in around 3,600 French communes. This extensive project will be completed by year 2020 according to the company, and the work has already started in 2010 for the accomplishing the same. French telcom will invest somewhere near 2 million euro in between 2010 and 2015 and till 2020 it has targeted to reach 10 million euro. FTTH will be covering all the big as well as small towns of France. But, there are a few exempted areas where France telecom will not be able to provide this network. Those areas are supposed to get the network through FTTC, that is, Fibre-to-the-cabinet or satellite settled broadband network.
France telecom will ensure high speed broadband through FTTC, for flexible accessibility of the internet. Chief Executive Officer of France telecom, Stephane Richard said that, she was very pleased to affirm about this ambitious project. She said that it was a happy moment for the French population as there will be easy access to higher speed internet services. She also added that Orange telecom is willing to offer much more advanced technologies than this in the upcoming future with regards to current development and demand in the French market.
